When the student is ready the teacher will appear. I don't teach ESL (English as a second language) or EFL (English as a foreign language). I teach English as a trade language, a mutual language that will benefit you and your career or independent business as we push forward through this new century of globalization. I have been teaching in Bangkok for the past nine years as a Senior English Instructor in the city center as well as doing educational consulting privately with families in Greater Bangkok. I have been developing courses and ways of applying phonics teaching for adults, as well as children (particularly, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean students). I also teach students privately in crafts and cooking and tutor in many other subjects including History, Social Studies, Geography, Religion, etc. I have extensive experience teaching test preparation including TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, SAT, etc. I have also lectured at the university level. Your goals and frustrations are important to me and unblocking your path to success is my driving purpose. I was once blocked and was stuck. The new career I started after 40 was going nowhere by the time I turned 50. The market here in SEA (South East Asia) for foreign native English teachers was drying up even as the demand for teachers was growing due to the advent of AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) and new trade policies that followed. Filipino teachers began to be hired as native speaking ESL teachers and they could work for less and had easier access to work permit visas. As a contract teacher paid on a per lesson fee my bookings were steadily declining. This is when I realized I needed to go outside my comfort zone and reach out to you. Here is where I began my "hero's journey” to have, not only the mind of a spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically whole person but the mind of an entrepreneur. I have the ability to create confidence in others, so I am making myself available to you. Through practical real conversations about real life struggles in your business and professional life, I will help you gain an understanding of how English functions as a trade language.
