Richard Chang is the name; I have taught English for almost 20 years. Before returning to Taiwan, I had two years of experience teaching Mandarin while attending Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo. Ever since year 2000 after I returned, I have not only taught English as my fulltime job, but have done some translating on the side from time to time.
In a typical online English session, I would strive to help those learning to speak English in a relaxing, guiding and yet conscientious manner which I hope would inspire them. Seeing learners willing to open up their mouth and heart to speak English makes everything worth it. My sincerity, warmth and smile can bring the best in these people.
In my leisure, I enjoy reading in the library on a daily basis. Also, I love doing exercises by walking, jogging, swimming and hiking. It’s part of my daily fitness program. Walking is the best form of exercise for life in my opinion. It not only helps me get focused, but also helps me stay healthy physically, mentally and spiritually. Moreover, it allows me to be able to think through during times of difficulty. In addition, weekly fasting is another way for me to gain spiritual strength.
Once or twice throughout the year, I go traveling. Taking trips to unknown both domestic and foreign places and getting to know different people cleanses inner self, turning life into something much more interesting and fun. In the due process of traveling, it helps me look at the world in a different angle. All in all, life is indeed wonderful and rewarding.
